We have strong disagreements with all the Republicans running for president. The leading candidates have no plan for getting American troops out of Iraq. They are too wedded to discredited economic theories and unwilling even now to break with the legacy of President Bush. We disagree with them strongly on what makes a good Supreme Court justice. The editorial does a good job of describing the sorry candidates in what used to be a respectable republican party. The endorsement of McCain as the least worst may unfortunately give him too much credit, but it is all relative. I do not consider a prisoner of war a "war hero" but rather a war victim. McCain's flip-flop pandering to the religious reich wing is only lightly chastised. McCain's advocacy of permanent military occupation of Iraq in neocolonialism for oil is not mentioned. But it is excellent reading nonetheless.
