Bush Opens Roadless Tongass National Forest to Logging

The story reminds the reader that while one fork of the bush tongue acknowledges global warming, the other acts to spend public money to build roads so private logging firms can destroy the carbon sequestering forest on the cheap. The wildlife and streams and quality of life are just collateral damage to short term profits for corporations that make the political contributions that elect the leaders that make these decisions.

This is the saddest and most depressing news. It is being reported by all media. Can't something be done to stop the destruction of our wild areas, our wilderness areas, our National Parks and Monuments? None of the politicians seem to care anymore; they focus on the lobbyists who have unlimited funds to 'donate' to them for rubber stamping the destruction the big corps want to do.

Preaching to the choir. As entertaining as a Bush-bash always is, this presents no window onto how the 'bad guys' justify this terrible act. And without that data, there is no target to shoot at.
