The Illinois Senator is still a young man, but not so young as to have missed the 1990s. He nonetheless seems to be awakening slowly to what everyone else already knows about the Clintons, which is that they will say and do whatever they "gotta" say or do to win. A few errors; Ken Starr was a rabid partisan on a witch hunt. And the author denigrates Obama by assuming he is naive and being educated. The problem may rather be how Obama can counter the attacks and maintain a positive message of hope. The dirty tricks of the Clintons are perhaps forged by having to counter the masters of dirty tricks as embodied in Richard Nixon, Karl Rove, and the swift-boaters. As an example, this story from a right wing corporate journal, manages to attack both Clinton and Obama under the guise of sympathy and undeserved self pity.
