It's not clear in this piece if McCain has truly backpedaled from his past position on immigration- Malkin goes through his past in her highly partisan, not very well-worded style.

God!!! What a bad article. Obviously written by an extreme, fanatic conservativo-fascist. Our country was built by immigrants. Not all immigrants, legal or not, are criminals as she implies. I would venture to say that the percentage of criminal illegal aliens is probably not much different from the criminal percentage among the general population. As far as drug smuggling is concerned, it only occurs due to our insatiable desire for those goods. Eliminate the demand and the problem will be eliminated. Ms. Malkin refers to the illegal immigrants as criminals because "they have violated our immigration kaws".
