This opinion piece works to highlight important long term trends in the US budget. It fails on several counts, however. It pointedly attacks Obama, but doesn't offer his position on these issues (i've linked to his social security policy page in this story overview page). It also fails to realize the connection between comprehensive health care reform and the reform of medicare and medicaid, which would undoubtedly be effected by larger health care reform advocated by Democratic candidates.
