"A question we must ask about current interventions in Africa and elsewhere is whether the "war on terror" drives the U.S. to support reliable friends and to ignore their failings."; the obvious answer is yes. And it truly is sad that U.S. citizen's are treated so poorly in having information about Africa being 'boxed' in 'tribal violence'; perhaps it is because of what happened in Rwanda and the U.S.'s unwillingness to step in as contrasted to what the U.S. did in the Balkans.
