Ron Paul Doesn't Accept Evolution

The one and only anti-war Republican presidential candidate didn't raise his hand when asked who doesn't believe in evolution, but it turns out he may have wanted to. In this clip, Paul responds to a question about the incident by saying that it was an "inappropriate question," but that "I think it's a theory--theory of evolution--and I don't accept it."

How embarrassing. Includes video, in which true believers don't even flinch and even nod approvingly when they hear him say he does not accept it as a theory. Obviously he's at some fundamentalist gathering. That should be disclosed here. Would be good to know the context.

Ron Paul is a maverick of the dangerous variety; he is spot on regarding some events and issues, and crazy wrong on other important issues. His smiling dismissal of the science of evolution as a theory that might offend the voters he is trying to pander to is one minor insightful atom in viewing the man.
