Sets the scene well and captures the fear and tension on the streets ahead of the vote tomorrow. Good sourcing in this brief video report. High marks for enterprise, as the reporter, a woman, has obviously taken great risks to do this story.

Informative update from Kandahar about security risks for Afghan voters looking to participate in this week's election, despite Taliban threats. This factual video report shows interviews with confident local officials, contrasted against comments from residents who fear for their lives.

It's very telling that the TV reporter, Zeina Khodr, needs to hide her face with a burka as soon as she finishes making her on-camera intros, to avoid retaliation in this strict society.

It's the kind of high quality journalism one expects from Aljazeera. The reporters take a high risk in providing convincing coverage of the situation in Afghanistan.

Moving account. I really hope there will be no casualties.

As a Canuck, I'm a little pissed that this reporter doesn't know Canada has troops in Afghanistan

Agrees with others this report, made from inside a car driving around Kandahar, captures the high tension prior to the election, with Taliban leaving notices threatening anyone who votes, and lobbing mortars into the city.

Was very nervous for the reporter while watching this video - was concerned she might be stopped at any moment. Still she manages to give a complete report - amazing!
