Somehow, coverage of whether or not crying is a good political strategy strikes me as less the point than whether the candidate and his or her reactions are relevant. The examples mentioned for Romney don't question whether they demonstrate a deeper emotional connection to a meaningful issue. I found the "racist church" thing, actually ironic and something of a pass. Rather than responding to the real question (why is he so relieved when we've never heard a peep out of him or any ot the press on this before?) they analyze whether it was authentic and whether it's likely to help or hurt on seemingly theatric grounds. Distracting and vapid.
