The BRICs also have some common views about the principles that should govern international relations — ones that diverge from those of the West. With their growing power and financial clout, they harbor geopolitical ambitions to change the very structure of global governance. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the host of the summit, said, “The BRICs have a vital contribution to make to the creation of a new, fairer, multipolar world order.” Full Story »

This piece glosses over the difficulties entailed (including the border disputes between India and China and the traditional animosity between Russia and China) and reads like pr. I've linked to another BRIC piece that provides more background and acknowledgment of the difficulties, especially in including Russia among the emerging nations. In fact, the piece I've linked to in the Financial Times, which I'm hoping ... More »

This opinion paints the BRIC alliance as an very positive development in the world political economy. It makes a solid case, though there are many claims presented that are not back up by any evidence (see quotes).

This opinion piece provides important alternative perspectives regarding what constitutes a global economic superpower. Very informative -- if readers are not familiar with the coalition of BRIC countries (which are Brazil, Russia, India, China), they should.

While this article is informative, it is not very insightful. The article just sticks to straight facts.I do not really trust this publication; which is why I am hesitant in recommending this story. Overall, it is just an informative article.

It is informative because it tells you a lot about BRIC and the countries involvements. It is good to hear about the economy from somewhere outside of the trade relationship between China and the US.

This is just alright. I feel like there could have been more references and a little more informative. It would have been nice if they briefly touched on what G7 and G20 are. But other than those things, it was nice. I also enjoyed the illustration they included.
