The information, quotes, and background all present the story a little better than the usually more progressive PI in this article. The story is important in that it reflects the story that the once grand old party of conservatives has moved away from the people and become a party of radical regressives largely controlled by a dogmatic and uninformed minority who ignore human values and people issues. Not only the voters are shifting allegiances away from a party that has deserted them, but the candidates are shifting allegiances also. The story raises a hope that there may be more coverage of those progressive republicans attempting to save and restore their party.
