It is a straight report from a variety of substantive sources all on the public record. It captures as a snapshot the current status of the health care debate and its dramatic dynamics. It included the points of view from key political players.

I'm an orthodox incrementalist is all things save circumcision. My modest proposal would be to expand Medicaid to all households up to 200 percent of poverty level. I'd also raise Medicare eligibility to 67 recognizing that elders are both healthier and working longer. This formula is simple, uses programs already in place. Won't saddle health care providers with new regulations and is the devil they already know. It is also less costly than reinventing a new system and addresses the issue at where the greatest vulnerable populations are.
