This author has done a better job than many of presenting the politics and the public statements made by politicians. It lacks much in the way of analysis with respect to the actual issues and facts about the proposed legislation - which is not a criticism, I hasten to add, since that was not stated as a purpose. I am unrelated to this Mr. Elliott, by the way.

I am SO sick of phony health industry backers, such as Orrin Hatch creating smokescreens & false scenarios in order to please & appease their corporate financeers. The insurance giants have failed miserably in delivering service in a fair & humane manner. If they are driven out of business by some degree of government participation, so much the better. They are raking millions & even billions off the top at the expense of working people and the victims of illness, accident, & misfortune. Who needs the greedy bastards? They are parasites. Health care is a basic civil & human right, especially in the richest country in history. I want to see single payer because it will return us to a decent system that doesn't exploit anyone. Government is not inherently bad, unlike corporations that care only about stockholders & the bottom line.
