The reason that this report (it's a survey, so a wide variety of journalists on the front lines in Iraq presented their opinions) is so important is that the journalists could give their opinion in complete anonymity. The statistics that stuck with me was that the reporters have tended to paint a rosier picture than it truly is over there and that the plight of the Iraqis is greatly under-reported. This is completely the opposite that the Bush administration has been telling us.
