This article makes it seem as though these companies provide special service to China, although it only states that explicitly for Google. Yet companies "rat out" users in the U.S., and the Internet equipment used in China is the same as that used all around the world. The point that China is using U.S. services to oppress it's people is still valid, same as for all of the governments using U.S. military equipment to oppress their people. No sources given.
