An interesting twist on the fact checking stories that have been published recently, focusing on the origin of the "death panel" rumor. It would have been nice to include responses from more prominent advocates (Beck, Palin, etc.)

This brief story attempts, without much success, to put the accusations of mandatory euthanasia into context. Every day in any hospitals there are questions about whether a dying patient should be put on a respirator, or not. This story might have done better if it dealt with those situations, not just crude Nazi-era eugenics.

Call me crazy but I think the unsupported assertions made in the following quote are irresponsible political opportunism--dare I say...crazy. "Still, one proponent of the euthanasia theory, Mr. Neumayr, said he saw no reason to stop making the claim. “I think a government-run plan that is administered by politicians and bureaucrats who support euthanasia is inevitably going to reflect that view,” he said, “and I don’t think that’s a crazy leap.”"
