I consider this excellent journalism in the spirit of muckraking journalism. The only link I followed was the one that led to the source that is selling one of the books by the author. As much as I enjoy this kind of book and would like to read it there are just not enough hours in the day to do so. So, as far as well sourced, I have to believe the author had access to the documents he cites. If you get so cynical that you eschew all claims of source then you might as well go live in a cave. Important? You bet it is! I firmly believe you have to read as many differenct sources as you can to develop a bigger picture of what is going on. I have no reason to believe Robert Perry is a pathological liar. He has written a piece about the well-known Bush history of using ill-gotten info to spin and outright lie in order to damage/destroy any opposition.

Anyone who considers the Washington Times "powerful" compared to the Washington Post, let alone all the other much bigger circulation Democratic-leaning papers and Fox News "powerful" compared to NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and PBS has to be considered uninformed about journalism and about public events. The author's erasure of the Kennedy-Johnson administration from history is awe-inspiring. A remarkable feat but one that still leaves this worthless as journalism.

Robert Parry has been one of the most reliable investagaitive reporters in the media - - and his record goes back a long way. Along with Joe Conason and Gene Lyons, his were early warnings that the first Bush administration (remember Lee Atwater, Ted Olsen, The American Observer, Richard Mellon Scaife, and the rest of the criminal enterprize in the 90's ?) had launched the "Arkansas Project" that tried to kill off the Clintons, and nearly succeeded. The mainstream media ignored it nearly completely, but now it accepted as fact by most media, save possibly the New york Times which amplified every false accusatioin and rumor. While this story read like it has bias, there is an important story here. The first president Bush surprise me by this tactic. That was a real strech of the truth. President George W Bush has overstepped his authority many times so I have reason to believe he will do it again. Watch for the dirt in the near future.

Come on, are you serious? The secretary in the archivist's office could also get them but she's not running for President in '08 either. I'd worry more about Sandy Berger getting them and shredding them.
