A straightforward account of one day's testimony in one of the VECO public corruption trials. U.S. Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK) and his son Ben, former state Senate President, are also under FBI investigation for their dealings with VECO. The paper provides access to a FBI surveillance tape, links to its prior coverage and has a searchable archive for anyone wanting more information. Stevens is of national interest, because he has been criticized for putting a hold on the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act and his threats to block the current ethics reform bill because of its limitations on air travel gifts. He has been accused of pork barrel spending for projects such as "The Bridge to Nowhere." He is a proponent of ending net neutrality.
