a respected chronicler of underreported events in our social fabric puts the new policies into historical perspective. i recall the quote 'the more things change, the more they stay the same' as i read this. Mr. Terkel doesn't include the 'other' point of view as he clearly doesn't believe it has merit. it's good to be reminded of our own history, but that, unfortunately, doesn't often change the future.
