A story based on the hypothesis that trying to convince someone that you're in the process of killing him isn't torture doesn't make much sense to me. A story that ignores evidence that more information is obtained after obtaining a prisoner's confidence than by using torture doesn't strike me as good journalism. And the America I believe in doesn't support torture.
