As one would expect, the article offers the point of view of free market economists on health-insurance. It defends the interests of private insurers and the idea of private insurance in a somewhat idealized insurance market which is supposed to provide all the necessary security for the sick. The main effort the article seems to seek is the strengthening of the individual market while avoiding "costly rules" as well as government intervention.

I am quite unhappy with the idea of health care being reduced to the problem of health insurance. The debate should be centered on how to provide the best coverage to the sick, but not on how to minimize costs and boost the health insurance providers.
