Barone lays out Democratic failures in the last couple months as an argument that 'it's not 2006 anymore'. Not particularly insightful.

Michael Barone is the most prominent objective observer of U.S. politics (the Almanac for which he is senior editor is the main reference work on American politics, the 2008 edition is now available) and here provides an analysis of the situation faced by the Democratic Party over the failure of its Congressional leadership to chart a sensible course on Iraq. This is a timely and well-supported analysis.
