The layout of this article makes it a bit confusing. For example, it mentions a proposal by Michael Chertoff in paragraph 2, but you have to read paragraph 15 to first learn what the proposal is. Balanced viewpoints and fairly well sourced, except that it doesn't mention any particular venue for Chertoff's statements.

Good investigation into another system in which the government collects information. I would also like a cost analysis for programs like this. Not many journalists examine the amount of money that goes into these 'broad net' and probably unconstitutional searches. I also would like to know if there is a secure system in place to protect this information or is it like the veteran's information that was found on a laptop.
