the writer here, in placing the arguments in the new health care plan of the administration does that a great disservice, because the sitings he uses are not spelling out what he claims are his concerns. using eugenics is completely inflammatory here so i don't give this credence in any objectivity or fairness. nevertheless, those same interpretations of the bill's passages need to be discussed in our society. not as individual senior citizens but as a culture which places so much emphasis on death in old age as not to be given in to, or to be prolonged no matter what. we SHOULD be made aware of what options we may have and why we might want to consider them. this is not about euthanasia. it's about the PROCESS of dying which we are conditioned to avoid in discussion. recently i saw a bumper sticker of an elder person which reads, "age kills" , and it was appreciated by the other elders who saw it. the problem is that this is not the time to have this discussion, as reforming health care is so much more about other issues, and people such as the writer can fasten onto their own interpretation of this issue.
