The conservative scream machine news panders its weapons of mass distraction to the dissemination of the trivial instead of serving the public good with information that is useful as a foundation for the making of important national decisions. It also exposes the conflict of interest that is inherent in mixed mega-corps.

Krugman on media...great. This short interview is prefaced with a bitting bit on Krugman's , what is the word....independence, alliance lack of handlers.... I'm thinking ...get his book. The comments after are the weird, uncritical slams often found on the net were interesting. Good interview, it let's the Krugman speak.. un-O'Reilly/fox.

because i have seen these issues the same way as mr. krugman, i think he has it right. however i would have liked more follow-up, and more probing questions asking for more examples of the points he makes. has our mainstream media ever really been one to ask ( and respond to) hard questions of those in power? why is the u.s. public more tolerant of the way this works than some other nations?

Any sentient American has known this for years, but all you hear from the re-THUG-li[e]-CROOKS is whining about the [imaginary] "liberal" media (which is largely only in "Rolling Stone", "Mother Jones" & "The Nation"... but THEY tell the TRUTH! Take THAT FOX "news"!
