Ted Turner: Fox News to Blame for Iraq

During an interview by GQ's Wil Hylton posted on the magazine's blog on September 20, CNN founder Ted Turner blamed Fox News for pushing America into the Iraq war, tagging the conflict as "Rupert's war," and contended that he is more afraid of America's possession of nuclear weapons than he is of the prospect of rogue states like Iran obtaining such weapons. This is an interview, and I assume the published quotes are accurate. However, next to nothing of what was said by Mr Turner was fact-checked, other than conditions in North Korea (first paragraph). Mr Turner ran a news network that collaborated closely with Saddam Hussein, so perhaps it is understandable that he wants to blame someone else in the news business for Saddam's demise, but that does not make his comments rational or factual. One more item: If population density were the cause of terrorism as Turner says then Singapore and Hong Kong should be the leading sources.
