A tortured stance on torture

Washington shuddered last week when The New York Times revealed that the Justice Department, under the direction of Alberto Gonzales, had undermined the will of Congress, the Supreme Court, as well as hard-won national and international standards with secret legal opinions supporting torture. "Shocking" was the word Republican Senator Arlen Specter used, and well he should.

good head line.....strange to try to find balance in this issue in the face of the facts and jurisprudence....torture is criminal and ineffective,,the Geneva convention is our law not opened to willed misinterpretation ...those who torture are criminals and terrorist, those writers of criminal advocacy need prosecution. What is the reason for the secrecy (diagnosis).... not asked answered my opinion ....mental illness untreated.
