Checking today, I learned that Nichol's foes are again using the power of the internet to rally against him, sponsoring a site with arguments against his renewal and a petition "Should Nichol's be Renewed," created on June 12 in Utah, after sending out an anonymous newsrelease on June 11. There's a second site created at nearly the same time with the same provider, for the Society for the College of William and Mary, which appears to be down with no past ... Full Story »

William and Mary President Gene Nichols may not get his contract renewed, after ideological pressure brought by, among others, former FCC chief (and son of General Colin) Michael K. Powell. Nichol's foes are arguing against his renewal due to his efforts to make an on-campus chapel inclusive of religions other than Christianity. I would have liked to have heard more directly from some of Nichols' opponents on the subject, which would have strengthened the author's somewhat obvious bias in favor of the colege president, however...
