Are "national interest electric corridors" for us or for the industry?

Plenty of links, sources, and evidence. I would like to see deeper digging into the context. What is the area's projected power demand growth rate, and will the system handle it without these corridors?

This piece presents legislative information regarding the CS Monitor article about a Dept of Energy proposed energy corridor. She links to past efforts by energy companies to effect Federal policy. I needed to read the CS Monitor article to fully understand this piece. Neither this piece nor the CS Monitor piece give direct evidence that the Dept of Energy proposal is primarily beneficial to the Ohio Valley coal power companies. More research is needed.
