there is some straightforward information here about what's on the white house web site about the health care reform bills, including statements there rebutting some of the rumors. what's not as straightforward is in describing this, the emphasis is on how much of an "invitation to the public" to submit " rumors", "myths", and "fishy e-mails" characterizes the site, rather than setting the context of the facts of so many actual distortions about the bills are in the media and in the town meetings.

Not much original reporting. Much of the information could have come from a press release and a quick skim of the site. The topic is important, though.

Generating awareness of what both sides have to say is useful and appropriate.

The report documents a White House Web site to counter attacks by opponents of the universal health care bill. While the public needs to know about the site, the Fox News report lacks sufficient facts on a number of issues, such as probing each of the purported rumors being profiled to set each story straight.

As newspapers downsize staff and report less with context and depth, we're seeing more surface reporting from Fox and television networks and affiliates.
