Reality has set in. It was inevitable. Obama is an amazing orator and correctly took the pulse of the public mood. But Rich is right. Few people win in Washington by being a saint. And fewer still get there who start out as one. A shame. But not a surprise.

Obama is a Chicago politician. He doesn't operate from any principle except to beat his foes and help his supporters. Rich should know better than to think otherwise.

Obama is Clinton but more ruthless and more tricky.
