Newsworthy, but totally lacking in context and consequence.

I'm troubled by the possible effects of these bans and I'm skeptical that these leaders are concerned about women and their well-being. Do they believe that the women will go out in public uncovered? Seems much more likely that they will remain at home where they can observe their religious customs--leaving the women only more isolated and ostracized from any modern, secular society. In any case, this article doesn't offer anything valuable to an understanding of the issue; if the move is necessary, shouldn't someone be prepared to talk about "why?" out loud?
