10% of May ballots flawed

'Serious Consequences,' election experts say

Nearly 10 percent of Cuyahoga County's official ballots in the May 2 primary were "destroyed, blank, illegible, missing, taped together or otherwise compromised," according to experts who studied the county's new electronic voting system.

That could have made a recount impossible in a close race, says the report, which was released Tuesday. Full Story »

Another story on the Cuyahoga County, Ohio report from Election Science Institute. This one gives depth to the performance of paper trails. Cautiously explains that the vote counting delay was not related to paper trails. Includes an unattributed response from Diebold. Fair overall, but scary.
