Mediocre journalism. No physician comments, even from those who have campaigned vigorously for full availability of pharmaceutical research. No mention of the pharmaceutical industry harrassment of researchers wanting to publish data unfavorable to the pharmaceutical industry, which would have provided a bigger picture. Erroneously suggests that publishing research data is only in response to the issue of adolescent suicides possibly related to antidepressant use that many question re effectiveness. No historic context regarding the previously more effective safety provisions that prevented major congenital malformations from Thalidomide that were common in Europe, but rare here. No mention of side-effects that were hidden by the pharmaceutical industry. Still, this is important legislation and there are some important facts included in the story.
