Well, that was awesome and well-thought-out, but I wish he made the case to Earthlings better. He alludes to this as a "national security" imperative, but he doesn't elaborate. It's a tough time for space programs, and NASA and other space agencies need to make very convincing political and economic arguments if they want to get the funds they need.
