what interested me in this story is its particular media - not where i'd guess i'd read this article. the speculation regarding why soldiers may not be caring about the discussions 'half a world away' makes sense. It also makes sense that individual soldiers' opinions reflect their particular experience and a few individuals isn't enough of a sample to tell us much about the whole.
