A good investigative report based on U.S. sources. There seems to be no first-hand information from Pakistan itself. One would have wished for more quotes from Pakistani leaders.

What exactly is the amount of influence senator John Kerry and Mr Luger possess in the formulation of U.S. foreign policy? What are the interests both politicians stand for? I suppose they consider themselves "major players" in foreign policy, still their political mandate or who backs them is rarely mentioned.
