Ron Paul may have soured his antiwar appeal among progressives with a speech Saturday at the Iowa straw poll. Paul referred to Roe v. Wade as "that horrible ruling," called for the abolition of the Departments of Energy and Education and the IRS, and attacked welfare and immigrants. Interesting video of him speeking among his base. The only republican candidate with an occasional view of some of the reality of events has counter-ballanced that with a largely absurdity based platform of proposals that seems to go beyond liberarianism. At least he seems genuine. There are genuine idiots. We have had too much exposure to a disingenuous idiot to even take part of that path for the next four years.
