A better way for bloggers to identify peer-reviewed research

Most CogDaily readers are familiar with the little icon we developed to indicate when we were reporting on peer reviewed research. We created it when we began to offer links to news and blog posts, as a way of distinguishing those less "serious" posts from when we were talking about peer-reviewed journal articles.

As someone who's been appalled at the high ratings given extremely weak reporting on science-related stories, I'm pleased to see that the issue, as it relates to blogs, is being addressed. It remains to be seen whether what is developed is useful, since so few people actually pay attention to the statistical analysis that is essential for determining the validity of a research study.
