(Video) Jon Stewart gets a lot of material from Glenn Beck, but the Daily Show host went all-in on Thursday night with a whopping 15-minute parody of the Fox News host.

Interesting departure from John Stewart's straight-man news persona. In this 15-minute parody, he impersonates a character inspired by right-wing pundit Glenn Beck, in an attempt to expose Beck's tendency to make up facts to fit his partisan agenda.

While I applaud any effort to expose partisan fear-mongers like Glenn Beck, I am not sure this parody succeeded. Jon Stewart's talent lies more in his witty interpretation of the news, rather than in impersonating other characters. But I am glad that he gave it a try, given the serious harm caused to the public discourse by Beck and other opinion news pundits on cable news shows.

Report like this can bring a lot of light and offer some media literacy, but unfortunately the HP is closer to the cabarets of Berlin than say, CNN or CBS. Whenever I watch Glenn Beck who actually is telecast in Seoul Korea of all places, and he says, ... More »
