uses video clips from international broadcasts to show that there are millions of refugees all over the world - the cost of wars in the degradation of human beings without material resources, particularly the youth whose only means of survival is through the sex trades.

And how many of these refugees are created by US arms sales - or Russian, or Chinese arms sales? It says nothing about why our media (most of which have shut down overseas bureaus) are silent about these - if we knew about them, someone might actually suggest that we do something for them. But our foreign aid tends to be military, not economic, or they may have been driven out by our allies (and we can't admit that, can we), and our immigration policy is paranoid. The article fails to mention the number of economic refugees (oops - sorry, that's 'illegal immigrants') who happened when NAFTA displaced subsistence farmers.

This is good journalism. The piece show us the main dimensions of a huge and forgotten social, political and cultural problem of justice and international solidarity, in the midst of the globalization process. The global interaction of markets does not accompanies a needed global interaction of cultures.
