Will the public support Democratic Congressional efforts to get the Bush Administration to comply with subpoenas relating to the firing of US attorneys? The White House is claiming 'executive privilege" will allow them to ignore Congressional efforts. Unless the Democrats can figure out how to present the issue favorably to the electorate, this article says, they will suffer as a result.

This story only appeals to the politically active. This is an inside the beltway issue. Outside the beltway only the navel gazers in Marin County care. If you are a newspaper looking for readers, this is not a story to run. The story has no legs outside the beltway. If you are a member of congress you have a bigger problem. Nobody outside some immediate members of your family think you are doing anything besides taking payoffs and screwing up and this investigation tends to confirm that congress just screws up.

Layed out well so that it's easy to follow the chain of events. Many sources brought to the table to back up assertions. Only the sources present opinion, a good thing for a news article.

The article is defferential to the administration positions regardless of their legality. The regal audacity of the administration above-the-law and above-the-legislature positions is never addressed.
