Or, perhaps accurately, they have been unkind to be people who work in the Geophysical Sciences using questionable ethical standards. A recent spate of credible allegations left many of most egregious practitioners of “curious statistical methodologies” and “unique data normalization procedures” stuck in a precarious spot vis-à-vis their professional honor. A new study released by the US National Science Foundation may offer them a significant reprieve. It gives them an “out” via “amazing new findings.” It turns out that ice bergs floating through ocean water catalyze a process that munches CO2 by dropping soil nutrients on the phytoplankton. These nutrients supercharge basic plant photosynthesis. The photosynthesis equation dictates that the CO2 gets mixed with water and light and turned into sugar and oxygen. And obviously we’re going to be looking at past practices and I don’t believe that anybody is above the law. On the other hand I also have a belief that we need to look forward as opposed to looking backwards. The first and foremost reason McCain-Palin will win is the absolute arrogance, elitism, condescending, patronizing and in-your-face voter suppression campaign – don’t vote for McCain, he can not win -- being conducted by the national media on Senator Obama’s behalf. Americans do not like to be told what to do. But the national media has become a feminized, electronic vote-for-Obama nagging machine. There is plenty of precedent for the average American telling those telling them what to do, to go pound sand, especially to those who tell them over, and over, and over again. Just ask the HMOs. Their you-can’t-do-this or you-must-do-only-this business strategy ended with the average American saying NO to joining HMOs. Essentially, the media have been frolicking in the streets in an orgy of Obama adulation and McCain bashing. Now, they will wonder why anyone would be disgusted by their behavior, or want to knock them back in their place? This is a symptom of their chronic and insular world condition.

NBC Lawyer who nixed troop ad gives generously to Congressional Democrats

Red State - Dec. 08 (Opinion) - The Majority Accountability Project has found that the NBC lawyer who refused to allow a non-profit group to air an advertisement thanking American troops for their service has donated at least $45,000 to a host of Congressional Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, New York Senator Hillary Clinton and the campaign committees of House and Senate Democrats. According to a Fox News report, Richard Cotton, the general counsel for NBC/Universal, was one of two network officials who decided not to sell ad time to Freedom's Watch, which describes itself as "a nonpartisan movement dedicated to preserving, protecting, and defending conservative principles and promoting a conservative agenda."

Red State - Sep. 23 (Opinion) - My high expectations for Fred Thompson were met with bitter disappointment tonight after listening to a boring and uninspiring speech that was more appropriate for someone running for president of the Rotary Club rather than president of the United States. Thompson's address to the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference had the potential to top Rudy Giuliani's moving speech last night. Instead, things went bad right from the start. Moments before Thompson took the stage, Rep. Tim Walberg gave a quick speech blaming last year's GOP losses on Republicans who had fallen asleep. It gave Thompson a punch line; he told the audience that he hoped that he wouldn't put them to sleep. Then he did just that. It was like watching Bob Dole -- without the Viagra.
