NowPublic.com is a news service made up of content submitted by its members. The company was first started by Michael Tippett in Vancouver in 2005. Other founders include Leonard Brody and Michael Meyers. Tippett worked with Meyers in New York at Afternic.com and Register.com and has known Brody since they both attended Queens University in Kingston. The site has since grown to become the largest participatory journalism site in the world according to The Globe and Mail.
