, Angela M. Belcher - Sep. 19 (Special Report) - we report the synthesis of single-walled carbon nanotube–TiO2 nanocrystal core–shell nanocomposites using a genetically engineered M13 virus as a template. By using the nanocomposites as photoanodes in dye-sensitized solar cells, we demonstrate that even small fractions of nanotubes improve the power conversion efficiency by increasing the electron collection efficiency.
NewsTrust Rating: 3.8 average (not enough reviews) - See Review » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

On 2 September, US energy secretary Steven Chu announced the first projects of a bilateral programme, the US–China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC). Those involved admit that its US$150-million budget is a tiny fraction of what will be needed to address both nations' growing energy demands, but say that it is important both as a symbolic effort, and because it paves the way for future collaboration.
NewsTrust Rating: 3.8 average - 3 Reviews » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer
