He, and millions like him, have much to contribute to America – and without people like them, our country will be far poorer.
NewsTrust Rating: 3.1 average (not enough reviews) - See Review » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

As usual, all sides in this cultural clash are employing the very media they consistently accuse of ‘news bias’ to promote their competing visions. Like the “Global War on Terror” spawned by the attacks, the ongoing struggle to interpret 9/11 now appears to be a war without end.
NewsTrust Rating: 3.0 average (not enough reviews) - See Reviews » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

Big Journalism? No, Another Phony Breitbart Beatdown

Media is a Plural - By Rory O/Connor - Jul. 30 (Opinion) - It’s been a while since I’ve been called nasty names in public or accused of ill-defined but dangerous conspiracies – which is a shame because it can be so much fun! Once, for example, the conservative crackpot David Horowitz (whom I’ve never met) told the Boston Globe I was a “hard core Marxist propagandist.” Then there was the time South Africa’s apartheid-era Defense Minister, Magnus Malan, denounced our weekly public television series South Africa Now as a Communist plot hatched in Mozambique…

That’s why it was so thrilling to learn I’d just joined Shirley Sherrod as an actor – albeit in an exceedingly minor role, alas — in another gussied-up, phony “journalism” beatdown by the conservative crackpot Andrew Breitbart. The news came in the form of an email “heads up” from Tracy Van Slyke, Project Director of The Media Consortium, a professional network of progressive media outlets of which my company Globalvision is a “card-carrying,” dues-paying member. Turns out that a hit job about The Consortium had been posted on one of Breitbart’s web sites, comically called Big Journalism.
NewsTrust Rating: 4.0 average (not enough reviews) - See Reviews » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

This week’s release by WikiLeaks.org of a massive archive of 92,000 previously secret U.S. military documents – a new generation’s Pentagon Papers – puts the lie once again to the tired refrain that the war in/on Afghanistan bears little resemblance to that in/on Vietnam. Instead, despite surface differences, the two unpopular conflicts possess many obvious and frightening similarities.
NewsTrust Rating: 3.0 average - 3 Reviews » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer
