Disaboom: Social Networking for the Disabled

BlogHer - Jul. 08 (Opinion) - For years I've been wishing for a good online community website for people with disabilities and caretakers of people with disabilities. I've seen some good niche email lists and message boards but nothing like an "iVillage" or a "WebMD" for people with disabilities. Disaboom appears like it just might be BETTER than what I've been looking for. I'm impressed.

Nowhere is the lack of cultural competence -- and its unfortunate consequences -- more apparent than in the widening rift between TUCC and the press. Incomplete reporting, uninformed blogging -- and most recently, the Church's reported imposition of a clumsy media relations policy provide a distorted picture of a widely-respected church, theological perspective and Christian leader. My intention in this post is to share my experience of TUCC, and, more importantly, to correct some of the misinterpretations of black liberation theology that have been reflected in the coverage of the church.

But years before, she made her mark as one of the most extraordinary interviewers in journalism -- so extraordinary that in 2004, she interviewed herself about her own impending death.

Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Indian Prime Minister, has made no secret of this desire of his. While Shanghai remains a distant reach for Mumbai - as of now - India's managed the dubious distinction of mimicking China's stranglehold on spontaneous creativity. Last week, I wrote about the bomb blasts in Bombay. One of the bigger fallouts of the blasts has been India's Department of Technology (DoT) blocking certain blog sites. Bloggers in India haven't been able to access popular blog sites such as Blogspot and LiveJournal. And boy are they hopping mad.
