Member (since March 2009)Currently a student at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. I will be receiving my BA in Political Science with a minor in International Studies. My goal eventually is to become a lawyer. Given my background and aspirations, I have always had a penchant for writing, communicating, and knowing what is going on in the world around me. This is part of the reason why I joined News Trust-the other part admittedly was to gain extra credit for News Literacy class assignment. Yet, even more so than this, I have found that my drive for knowing what is happening in other places, to other people, is fueled by my passion of photography and traveling. I have come to realize that the ability to capture an individual or event in a particular place, time, or setting, to tell a story in the most verifiable and real manner possible; and the journalistic process of doing so is of the up most importance-especially to those involved/effected. While pictures maybe "worth a thousand words," it has nonetheless been up to Journalists to put forthright with a level of transparency and factual accuracy, the sights and sounds of individuals, groups, nations, and governments in written form. In the end, I hope that this this site, will provide me with the means to gain further clarity on the journalistic process of reporting, and add fuel to my drive to know what is going on in the world beyond that of pictures and personal experiences.
