It needs to be reported. I think it would be reasonable to look behind Chency's actions for a motive.

The only thing lacking is the motive behind Cheney's admission, even bragging about his guilt. What do you want to bet that Bush pardons him on the basis that "he obviously believed that what he did was necessary." His admission makes it easy for Bush to pardon him.

I don't think the story is factual or fair. President-elect Obama has absolutely no power to change anything while President Bush occupies the office. It appears to me that the writer is joining Rush Limbaugh in trying to make it appear that Obama is responsible for the current problem.

We are deep into a recession, if not on the verge of depression, and the fault clearly lies with the Bush Administration. President Bush should resign and allow Obama to move ahead with a solution. The voters have indicated their complete lack of faith in Bush and Obama at least offers hope.

This simply provides more "economists" telling us that "it is necessary." Still doesn't tell us what is going to happen when it doesn't work.

Terrible journalism. The headline and the story both claim that Obama is "beholden" to the special interests, but it turns out that he has taken money from "people" who are represented by the lobbyists. There is a great deal of diference. The entire story is distorted.

This is precisely why I cannot support, and almost certainly would not vote for Hillary Clinton in any case. I am an "independent" voter with leanings definitely toward the Democratic Party, but Hillary Clinton is a follow-on to one of the greatest politicians of my life (Bill Clinton), and as such is not at all trustworthy, in my opinion. Obama has suggested "change" and now Hillary pretends to be a force for change, but she is 100 percent political, and th is seems to confirm that whe would sell her soul to achieve her ambition. I have little doubt that the "loan" will be repaid by illegal contributions from her weatlthy supporters.

An excellent appraisal of the situation and the single major candidate that might just possibly be able to accomplish the compromises necessary to reach a solution. God bless America!

I think this is fairly reported and appears to be an accurate description of what may have been illegal activity by Representative Jerry Lewis.

Yes, it is long overdue. This is a problem which has been completely ignored by the government and the business community. When the American (former, now unemployed) worker can not afford to purchase the cheap product produced overseas, the system will finally fail.

Well done. The end result is important. We aren't going to get there this week, so get ready for the next step.

This is the first complete, accurate analysis of the problem that I have seen. It is absolutely outstanding.

I don't believe that this presents the situation accurately. The Congress has no alternative since the President has consistently refused to change his tactics with regards to the war.

This report details how the Pentagon hid the truth while finding a way to justify the war in Iraq. It describes another example of the Bush Administration using obviously untrue reports to justify their position.

I'm not at all sure that it presents a really accurate picture of the situation. Noting declinies or gains is not truly descriptive unless the beginning totals are included. Internet spending, if starting at a low level, can increase significantly without much meaning.

I'm not sure that he adequately makes the point that the selection of Mr. Gates mostly ensures support for whatever President Bush chooses to do in Iraq and the Middle East. Bush has mad his position clear; that he intends to stay, and Gates will ensure that the Pentagon supports that position.
