Very interesting commentary. So, since candidate Obama and President Obama are distinctly unlike one another, who is pushing President Obama's buttons? Who's calling the shots?

This is the best possible journalism. No b.s., just the unvarnished facts of life in an un-winnable "war against terrorism". Clearly shows that the U.S. military is a terrorist organization whose actions create and sustain growing hostility in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This message needs to get to Obama. He seems to have forgotten the brutally insane reality of the war for oil.

Yes, in that Scahill has the integrity to criticize one of the most powerful and corrupt corporations on Earth. Most journalists either lack the guts necessary to report on powerful white-collar criminals, or are fearful of reprisals for doing so.

Since Obama wants us to hold him accountable, I expect him to follow up on this story and to order a full investigation. Then, assuming the facts are as reported, I expect Obama to support criminal prosecution of KBR executives.

Bankers may need to lower their profit expectations commensurate with today's economic realities. Gouging those who consistently pay on time is a pretty dumb business practise. The banks already charge the vendors big fees for providing credit purchases, so they are not losing money on good paying customers who in effect pay credit fees up-front.. The bankers should be smart enough not to bite the hands that feed them.
